friday, september 7th, aaron and les braved a 55 mile ride through carbon canyon, chino hills, norco and corona. the further we rode, the uglier the scenery, conditions and sense of direction.
highlights include:
- cycling uphill through carbon canyon, yelling, "here we come, rockies!" (referring to the mountains on colorado, that we will be passing over the 3rd or 4th week in june.)
- flying at 35 miles an hour down the other side of the canyon ascent, for about 10 minutes.
- repairing aaron's tire which was tremendously bent out of shape because of a damaged spoke, due to his water bottle *somehow* getting jammed inside his tire, while riding, and dislodged like a bullet, after a few revolutions between the spokes.
- getting chased by 3 tiny dogs at 20 miles an hour for 3 or 4 minutes...they were going to kill us.
- getting wildly lost and then finding our way with the help of a stay-at-home-bro with gps on his phone.
- getting picked up by jared mandel, because it was way too hot and we were way too tired. thank you jared!
the conclusion: from this point forward, we will ride until we are satisfied with our mileage or our saddle time, whichever comes first!
